Life Cycle of Animals

01 Oct Life Cycle of Animals

In this science tuition lesson, we will learn about Life Cycle of Animals. We will concentrate on animals with three stages or four stages in their life cycle.

A cycle is a series of events that continues over and over again in the exact same order.

The life cycle is a continuous stage of growth. Regardless of whichever animal, it follows the same order of its species. All animals follow the same life cycle of their parent. Hence this process is called a cycle, as there is a continuous and repeated order.

Life cycles have different stages. Some animals have 3 stages, whereas some have 4 stages. For example the butterfly has 4 stages: egg, young, pupa then adult. The cockroach has 3 stages: egg, young, adult. Therefore different animals have different stages in their life cycle.

The life cycle of a chicken consists of 3 stages. It starts with a fertilised egg, which consists of egg yolk, egg white, embryo, air and a hard shell. Only fertilised eggs become adults. The egg must be incubated to provide warmth for the developing embryo. The embryo develops into a chick after 21 days. The yolk provides the developing embryo with nutrients. The egg white (albumen) protects the yolk from any injury. Tiny pores on the egg shell allows air to enter. Air is kept in the air space. The hard shell protects the inner parts of the egg from injury. The membrane forms an air space to retain air for the embryo to breathe and also protects the albumen. It takes three months for a chick to grow into a chicken.

The life cycle of a frog also consists of 3 stages. It starts with the egg, which then hatches into a tadpole. The tadpole then grows into a frog. Frogs lay eggs in water as a mass while Toad lay eggs in water in strings. Frogs live in land and water while tadpoles move by swimming in water and hopping on land, while tadpoles only swim in water. Frogs live on insects while tadpoles feed on microscopic plants. Frogs breathe through thin and moist skin and lungs while tadpoles breathe with gills.

Miracle Learning Centre would like to bring you more facts on science tuition concepts and experiments. We hope you have understood this science tuition lesson. Science tuition lessons are created to help students excel and we believe “You are a MIRACLE!” and you can do it too.

Science is an amazing subject to learn but to learn it properly, one needs to be curious about the different explanations and theories provided by Science. At Miracle Learning Centre, Our teachers always teach the students in an interactive way where every student will be encouraged to question the different explanations of Science and will learn it better.
