07 Feb Cells, Tissues, Organs and Systems
Science needs to be learned with fun and curiosity. Science is a dynamic subject and has a lot of things in it to offer including cells and tissues.
But as much as fun it sounds, the primitive teaching models used by various schools and institutions is sufficient to take out all the fun and make the subject bland.
If you have been looking for innovative and fun-filled chemistry tuition in Singapore then Miracle Learning Centre is your one-stop for all the choices.
Understanding Cells: The Simplest Unit of Life
The cell is the simplest unit of life and they are responsible for keeping an organism alive and functioning. All living things are made from one or more cells.
Science tuition class in Miracle Learning Centre is fun and enriching. You will learn about the different aspects of Science and how to learn study skills too.
If you do not like or understand science, you must definitely attend the science tuition class at Miracle Learning Centre to arouse and reignite your interest. Let us learn about the cells, tissues, organ and system in this science tuition lesson.
Have you ever wondered how many cells are in the human body? Scientists estimate that the human body is made up of around 37.2 trillion cells, all working together to keep us alive and functioning.
Types of Cells and Their Functions
In the human body, there are about twenty different types of cells. Each type has a different shape and size to perform various functions.
Example of cells and tissues in human body
For example, the nerve cells are designed to carry messages; the red blood cells are to carry oxygen around the body.
The Role of Tissues in Living Organisms
Cells of the same type are usually arranged in groups or layers to form tissues. Tissues are able to do work at a faster rate. For example, the muscle tissues are in the limbs and walls of certain organs.
They are made up of a bundle of muscle cells and contracts to allow body movement.
Plant Tissues and Their Importance
There are also tissues in plants like the photosynthetic tissue. It is the green part of a plant, cells with chlorophyll and makes food for the plant.
How Organs Work Together in Systems
Furthermore, different tissues work together to form an organ, which carries out one or more bodily functions. For example, the stomach in an animal is made up of epithelial, muscle and connective tissues and break down food.
The leaf of a plant is made up of vascular, photosynthetic, epidermal tissues which are used for food-making.
Body Systems: A Coordination of Organs
When several organs are linked together, they form a body system which performs a particular function. For example digestive and nervous system in humans and transport system in plants.
